Tulsa Fruit and Vegetable - Food Safety

As the sun peaks over the horizon, its warming rays begin anew the process so critical to the growth of everything we eat. It's somehow ironic then that once the fruits of the sun’s nurturing are harvested, the sun and its warmth become the enemies of produce longevity. Enter the cold chain. From the time a piece of fruit or a vegetable is picked or dug up, a biological clock begins. truckIt's a clock that can be manipulated, and even slowed to a crawl, but only if the principles of the cold chain are maintained.  At Tulsa Fruit & Vegetable, we monitor our warehouse by individual cooler climate zones.  We use a state of the art temperature monitoring system called FreshLoc Technologies.  This allows TF&V to monitor in real time what is going on; if there is a change in temperature the system send notices to our management team to take corrected action to physically look at the problem.  FreshLoc Technologies is also HACCP approved.  The Cold Chain starts when an inbound truck arrives at our warehouse from there we guarantee that the Cold Chain is managed completely.  So, in other words, the product you buy is in the correct temperature zone from the time it arrives at warehouse to when we rotate and stack your walk-in.  TF&V undergoes rigorous Third Party Food Safety Audits every year.  Third Party audits are set in place to get an outside, unbiased look at how the warehouse is operated.  From the temperatures to cleaning duties, we comply 100% with a written and reviewed HACCP Program.
