Steam or braise whole or sliced banana flowers in broth; sprinkle with favorite seasonings for a totally different dining experience. Thinly slice; use as a bed for banana custard. Perfect for impressing dinner guests. Fill flowers with savory mixtures. Fry or boil for an unusual side dish. Blend slices with a variety of tropical vegetables; drizzle with sesame curry sauce. Stir-fry slices with rice noodles, chives, bean sprouts and shrimp. Slice, parboil and drain before adding to curries or stir-fries. Use as decorative garnish. To store, refrigerate. Use promptly for best quality. Rinse well before use. After cutting the banana flower open, rub with lime or lemon juice and wrap with plastic to prevent oxidization.
